Andy Lutz, CPA

Andrew (Andy) Lutz is a shareholder with Lutz & Travers P.C. He provides consultation and support on a wide range of tax and accounting issues including IRS or state audits, tax strategies for closely held businesses and financial statement preparation and analysis. Andy’s tax preparation services go beyond simply preparing a tax return. An in depth analysis of available deductions and credits is performed along with a review of the prior year tax return for new clients. Andy will provide recommendations on withholding allowances and estimated tax payments during the year to avoid any unexpected tax bills in April. Andy consistently advises business clients on new tax law updates that could benefit the client. Andy has built his client base on assisting small business owners understand their financial statements and how to use them when making key decisions. He has experience with reviewing historical data and making recommendations on future goals. Andy has experience with start-up companies to businesses in their third generation and works closely with the owner, controller or bookkeeper to ensure accuracy of the accounting system. Andy provides financial statement compilation and review services to comply with any bank or other regulatory requirement. Andy is engagement manager on several not-for-profit financial statement audits. These projects consist of working with the board of directors to plan and prepare for field work and to also assist the organization in reviewing their financial data so they can develop procedures to comply with audit requirements. Andy also prepares federal tax returns for non-profits and Pennsylvania BCO-10 & 23 returns. Andy started with Lutz & Travers in 2002 and represents the third generation from the Lutz family.

Thomas Travers, CPA

Tom’s major areas of experience are medical practices, funeral homes and small businesses. He graduated from the Salesianum School in 1980, and earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Villanova University 1984. He passed the CPA exam in 1995, making him a Licensed CPA in the State of Pennsylvania. He is a member of both AICPA and PICPA. Tom is Past President of the Exchange Club of Exton, and Past Treasurer of the Exchange Club of West Chester. He is both a Member of the Board and a Coach of the East Side Little League in West Chester. Tom worked for Loomis Brothers Corporation as an Accountant from 1984 to 1992. He was the Manager of Financial Functions for Anesthesia Services and Products between 1992 and 1996.

Michelle Lomonaco, CPA

Michelle joined the firm in 2014 and became a partner/shareholder in 2016.  She has over 25+ years of combined public practice and corporate accounting experience.   Michelle graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University in 1995 with a BS in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1997.  She has been a member of the PICPA since 1998. 
While attending college, Michelle started her career at a local accounting firm preparing tax returns, performing financial statement audits and reviews, and assisting business owners with their accounting needs.   After spending 7 years in public practice, Michelle made the change into private industry.  She spent 13 years working in the software industry as a Controller and Sr. Contract Analyst where she managed all facets of the finance department, was responsible for revenue recognition issues with third-party ISV contracts, performed company-wide budgeting/forecasting, and financial statement reporting/consolidations with international subsidiaries.
At Lutz and Travers, P.C. , Michelle prepares individual, business, payroll, trust, and inheritance tax returns. She performs annual audits, reviews and compilation services for non-profit organizations and non-public companies.

Accountant

Frank Lutz, CPA

Frank’s expertise includes working closely with business owners dedicated to making their businesses grow. His father began his practice in public accounting in the early 1950’s and it has been rewarding for him to continue and expand the business relationships he established. Frank’s sister and son also work with him, and the distinctive family nature of their practice helps them to understand and work effectively with other family owned businesses. He is a member of the AICPA and PICPA.
Frank graduated from Duquesne University in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He has worked in Public Accounting since leaving college, originally with Main Lafrentz & Co. out of their Pittsburgh office and later with Haskins and Sells out of their Wilmington Office. He passed the CPA exam in 1976. Along with his father, he formed a partnership in 1977 to service entrepreneurial businesses, individuals seeking tax planning and preparation as well as auditing services primarily with non-profit organizations.

Accountant

Robert Mattern, CPA

Robert graduated from West Chester Henderson High School in 2009 and earned a B.S degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University in 2013. Shortly after graduating college, he began working in public accounting earning his Certified Public Accounting license in the state of Pennsylvania in 2016.
Born and raised in West Chester, PA, he has spent his career developing his craft in both the public and private sector of the Chester County area. His public accounting career has allowed for exposure to operations and accounting intricacies of a variety of small and large businesses throughout the area. This has allowed him to build a strong background in a wide range of audit, accounting, and tax services.
Robert started with Lutz & Travers in 2020 from a previous firm where he had a primary focus in audit, review, and compilation engagements in addition to financial statement preparation for local small businesses and non-profit organizations to assist in meeting their reporting requirements. Furthermore, he assisted in providing tax services for a wide range of non-profit organizations, local businesses, and individuals.
For two years, he also worked in the private sector of accounting as a controller at a local manufacturing company.

He strives to ensure that his clients receive the highest quality of service to meet their needs through strong communication and maintaining positive client relationships.

Accountant

Megan Bell

Megan has worked for our firm for over 10 years. Born and raised in Chester County, Megan has worked in several fields, including cake decorating and retail positions, before coming to the firm. While working at the firm, she earned her Bachelors in Accounting in 2016 from University of Phoenix online. Megan has one daughter, two grandchildren, and three cats. When she is not working, you can usually find her knitting or crocheting, watching the Eagles and Phillies, and enjoying her music really loudly.
